On a mission trip to Santarém, in the state of Pará, Brazil, our team had the opportunity to serve alongside Pastor Marcos Cordeiro through a unique “ice boat” ministry on the Amazon River.
We traveled by boat to provide ice to local fishermen so they could keep their catch fresh, a simple gift that can make a meaningful difference for fishermen and their families. Along the way, we also distributed drinking water, snacks, and sunglasses.
But the greatest gift we carried was the hope of Jesus Christ. As we met fishermen along the river, we had opportunities to share the gospel and tell them about the living water that only Jesus can give, the water that truly satisfies the soul. Through this ministry, many fishermen living and working along the Amazon hear the good news of Jesus.
These ice boat outreaches are funded by Pastor Dave McClamma and Hope For Brazil Ministries, making it possible to meet practical needs while carrying the gospel to people along the Amazon River.
